The Rural Telemedicine Cooperative, Inc. is developing and sharing
healthcare
technologies for and with rural and underprivileged
communities.
These areas may
include:
1. Low density towns or non-urban areas with minimal access to
healthcare
2. Poverty stricken populations and areas with low median incomes
3. Farming and rural community healthcare
4. American Indian healthcare
Research and development is ongoing for general healthcare
applications
as well as in areas of patient monitoring and electronic health
records management.
Areas of specific interest and expertise include:
A. The licensing and development of an Electronic Health
Record (EHR) Transfer Network technology to allow disparate entities
to locate and exchange health records of all types.
B. The licensing and development of a Personal Health Record
(PHR) system technology to allow patient's control over content and
control over access to their health data.
C. Consulting - advising, evaluation and implementation
telemedicine systems and hardware.
D. Intra-State licensing and cross licensing agreements to
allow for technology integration and replication with evolving
Health and Information Management software systems.
In addition to the telemedicine system outlined above, the RTC seeks
to form partnerships with other agencies for:
I. Grant writing assistance to obtain local funding for systems.
II. Grant writing assistance to obtain follow-on and operations
funding.
III. Offering Technical expertise on hardware, software, and network
communications.
IV. Developing a complete telemedicine system blueprint to share with
governments,
or communities who wish to efficiently develop their
own
telemedicine project. |
